About Us - La Petite Paw

Our Story

La Petite Paw is the brain child of Emily Maas. Emily is Owner, Lead Groomer, Receptionist and Photographer at La Petite Paw. She graduated from Converse College, now Converse University, in Spartanburg, SC with a BA in Studio Arts in 2011. She used her degree to help navigate the creative sides of restaurant management and to market and schedule for a dental office.

In 2018 Emily finally found her creative calling in Dog Grooming. Graduating from Groom-A-Dog Academy she joined the NDGAA (National Dog Grooming Association of America) and decided to open her own salon with a focus on not simply meeting the grooming needs of pets but of elevating the experience with research backed top quality products, one-on-one care and professional portrait sessions. In 2020 this dream was realized in La Petite Paw, Grooming Salon and Spa. She has continued her education through both in person and online seminars and the salon has won several awards under her guidance.

Justin – husband, bather and assistant extraordinaire – joined the La Petite Paw team in January 2025. Mr. Bubbles was more than happy to finally exit the exhausting HVAC field and explore his love and passion for animal care and welfare.

Not all groomers will take on the bigger dogs. Emily recently groomed our Briard Bogie to perfection. He has a huge coat and loved his spa day, coming out looking gorgeous. We will be back!
